- Business or Formal Notes: This note is written in formal language. For instance, writing a note to thank your supervisor for a review or a promotion. The writer must take the recipient’s hierarchy and age into account.
- Personal Notes: This is a casual and less formal note that is mostly used for personal correspondence with no language specification. The writer must be aware of the recipient’s age as well as their relationship to the recipient.
These appreciation notes are usually brief, ordinary and short and are written to invoke certain emotions. They should not be used to convey other information. For formal notes, one may add a future plan of action with respect to the note. But, this should be very brief. For personal notes one could highlight the joy that they experienced or how much they value the recipient.
Simple and Plain: Just write a simple note with "Thank you for......." on it. This is often done when one is writing a note to thank several people. For instance, a note for a wedding guest may look like, "Thank you for attending our special day!”
Photo-perfect: When writing a note to a special friend, one could add the words "Thank You" right at the back of a photo you took together. This will make that note really special with an apparent emotion. Moreover, it is personalized making the receiver very happy.
Poetic effect: Sonnets and poems offer a perfect way to express emotion. Try writing a poem that befits a particular occasion. For example, when thanking someone for being there for you in your time of need, you may write try writing a poem about how that friend came in at a good time. You do not have to be a poet laureate to do this. It is cute, touching and memorable.
The thank you notes can also work wonders. Saying thank you in a quotation form can amplify how emotion reaches the recipient. Moreover, you will sound more intelligent.
